Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

A Native Expeditions representative will collect you from Kigali International Airport, your hotel or another agreed location.

If you arrive early, enjoy a short city tour featuring selected attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets or art galleries.

After lunch, travel through Rwanda’s hilly countryside to Musanze, near Volcanoes National Park.

Overnight: Musanze

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for registration and a gorilla trekking briefing.

Accompanied by experienced guides and rangers, enter the rainforest to search for a habituated mountain gorilla family. The duration and difficulty of the trek depend on the gorillas’ location, terrain and weather.

Once the gorillas are located, spend the permitted time observing and photographing them. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. If the trek finishes early, choose an optional visit to the Gorilla Guardians Village or the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

Overnight: Musanze

Day 3: Return to Kigali

Enjoy breakfast before travelling back to Kigali.

Depending on your departure schedule, visit attractions missed on Day 1, shop for local crafts or enjoy lunch in the city.

Your guide will drop you at Kigali International Airport, your hotel or another agreed location.
